Withholding a comment from the teacher portal
The portal shows teachers the comments from their evaluations as they were written, without identification. Nobody reads them first. With this option on, coordination can withhold a comment that should not reach the person being evaluated.
When to withhold
- Personal attack with no evaluation content.
- Serious report under investigation (harassment, discrimination), which cannot reach the person named before the investigation.
- The student is identified by the text itself ("I am the only wheelchair user in the class"), which the anonymity floor does not catch.
- Another reason, described in the justification.
Withholding always asks for the reason and a justification, and is recorded in the audit trail.
What changes and what does not
- The comment leaves the portal and the teacher's AI tips. Tips already generated are shown as out of date.
- The teacher sees how many comments of the period were withheld — never the content or the reason.
- The comment stays in the report, the comment reader, the export and the case: it is part of the process.
Releasing
Whoever withheld it, or someone else with the same access, can release the comment. It returns to the portal the next time the teacher opens the page.
Turning the option off
Turning it off removes the action from the screen. Comments withheld before stay withheld.
Justification and personal-data period
The justification is erased within the collection's personal-data period. The record that the comment was withheld — reason, who and when — stays.
