Weights across surveys

The report by teacher, unit or course gathers that entity's evaluation in every survey it appears in. Each survey is read in its own metric — an NPS stays an NPS, a satisfaction score stays a satisfaction score.

Without weights, there is no consolidated score

Merging different surveys into a single number is a decision, not an automatic calculation. That is why the consolidated score only appears when the institution declares the weight of each survey. Without weights, the report shows the reading separated by survey — and that is the expected behavior.

Whoever sets the weights owns the comparison: they are saying how much each survey counts in the final score.

How metrics become a common scale

To combine them, each result is converted to a 0 to 100 scale:

  • percentages go in as they are — including the teacher's score, which is the share of favourable evaluations in their row (points without a meaning and "Not applicable" stay out, and the screen says how many);
  • NPS (from -100 to 100) becomes half the distance to 100;
  • scale averages start from the lowest point of the scale, and the effort scale is inverted (less effort is better);
  • counts and averages without a ceiling are not converted and stay out of the consolidated score.

A survey without a score is not zero

If an entity has no evaluation in one of the surveys, that survey leaves the average with its weight. It does not count as zero — that would punish the entity for not being evaluated there. The breakdown shows which surveys the number came from, with which weight and how many evaluations.

The anonymity floor applies per survey and, for teachers, also to their own row.

The weights apply to every period

There is no weight history: the consolidated score reads every period with today's weights. Changing a weight also changes how past semesters read. That is why the report says since when the weights apply and warns when the period read ended before that date. The number presented at the time, survey by survey, stays in each survey's issued report.
