History imported from the previous platform
When the institution changes platforms, the comparison with the same period of the previous year stays empty for a year. Imported history solves that: it brings the aggregated result of an NPS, CSAT or CES question — how many evaluations each score received — per period and per unit.
What goes in
One spreadsheet per question, with one row per period and unit:
- start and end of the period;
- the unit code (blank = the whole institution);
- an optional label, such as "2025.1";
- possible authors, optional;
- one column per score of the scale, with the count of evaluations. An empty cell counts as zero.
The preview shows what will happen before anything is saved: how many rows will be created, updated and refused, with the number and the reason of each refusal.
Why declare the source and the scale
Whoever imports assumes the old question is the same as this survey's. That is why they declare where the numbers come from and what the scale was there: the ceiling and, for CES, the direction (lower is better, or higher is better).
If the declared scale differs from the current one, the whole import is refused. No value is converted between scales: a "5 out of 7" is not a "4 out of 5". If the question changes scale later, the history appears as not comparable, with both scales on screen, and without a variation.
For CSAT, the percentage of the old period is recalculated with the current favorable band of the question, and the screen says so.
Possible authors
The anonymity floor also applies to the history, counted against the population declared for that period. A row without possible authors is suppressed, with the reason "population not declared", for whoever is subject to the floor — it never shows as zero. The preview counts how many rows are in that situation.
If the institution does not have that number, coordinators will not see the history per unit.
What the history does not do
- It is not added to the responses of this survey, nor does it enter the summary, the funnel or the trend chart.
- It does not change the response counter or limit of the survey.
- It cannot be filtered by class, course, segment, origin, audience or completeness: with one of those filters, the screen says which one the history cannot be filtered by.
- It does not add up units or inherit the result of the unit above: each row is read as declared. Whoever reaches several units picks one to see the history.
- The result for the whole institution only appears to whoever reaches the whole institution.
The two channels of the previous platform
The same period and unit cannot come in through both channels — the aggregated result and the responses imported one by one. The import refuses the row and says which of the two already exists.
Deleting
Deleting removes the period from the comparison. Whoever had it in a saved selection sees "no imported history". Importing, updating and deleting are recorded in the audit trail.
