Display at the reception

A display shows the survey indicators on a TV — at the reception, in the staff room, in the hallway — in rotation, with no menu, no filters and no actions.

The display belongs to the institution, not to a person

Each display has its own name, blocks, period, intervals and theme, and the institution can have several. It keeps working even if whoever created it leaves the institution.

The display's reach is set when it is created: the units and programs its creator can read and share. After that it neither grows nor shrinks. Someone with a narrower reach than the display does not see it in the list.

The TV joins with a code

  1. On the TV, open the display address (shown on the Displays screen).
  2. The TV shows an 8-character code and a QR code.
  3. On your phone, scan the QR code (or open the connection page and type the code), choose the display and name the TV.

Within a few seconds the TV starts showing the display. It is not signed in to anyone's account: the TV can only read the display assigned to it.

The code lasts a few minutes and works only once; the TV renews it on its own.

What the TV never shows

  • Comments, names or any text written by respondents — not even when there are many responses.
  • Numbers from a slice below the anonymity floor: on a display the floor applies to everyone, with no exception.

Changing, disconnecting and what happens on its own

On the Devices tab you change a TV's display or disconnect it; the change reaches the TV within 30 seconds. A TV that goes 30 days without contact (turned off, stored away) is disconnected automatically and needs to be connected again.

If the internet goes down, the TV keeps showing the last numbers and says since when they stopped.

We recommend a TV box

The TV's own browser is often old and slow. A TV box (Android TV, Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV) fixes that for little money. The display works on these browsers, from 2020–2021, and newer:

  • Chrome 87 or Edge 88;
  • Firefox 78;
  • Safari 14.

TVs older than that may open a blank page — in that case, use a TV box.
